ICO target unsafe data practices

The ICO have taken action against marketers who fail to keep an individual's personal data safe. Nuisance calls and texting is a continuous concern for consumers and remains the ICO’s primary action.

In May alone the ICO issued a monetary penalty of £120,000 to Hall and Hanley Ltd for sending over 3.5 million unlawful marketing messages to subscribers. 

With 128 cases under investigation,The ICO has issued 63 third-party information notices to try and identify companies making nuisance calls.
